What you will learn
Decide which face is front and which is up, then use them consistently for the complete sequence unless a cube rotation is specified.
Before you begin
Set a clear front and upper face on your physical puzzle. If you are using the simulator, choose the appropriate cube size, then hold the same orientation before comparing moves. Review face-turn notation whenever a move symbol is unfamiliar.
Find the pieces or pattern
Decide which face is front and which is up, then use them consistently for the complete sequence unless a cube rotation is specified.
Try this short exercise
Place white on top and green in front, then complete U and R without turning your whole cube.
Check your result
Stop after the exercise and compare your real cube with the interactive 3D cube. Check neighboring face colors, not just the face closest to you. If the outcome differs, repeat slowly from a known position.
Turning the entire cube changes the meaning of R, L, F and B.
Take the skill into your next solve
Apply this lesson during one deliberate practice solve. Describe what you see before moving, make only the move you intended, and check the result. Confidence with piece recognition and reliable turns matters more than repeating a long sequence quickly.
