PLL stands for Permutation of the Last Layer. After the top face has one color, PLL moves its pieces into their final positions while preserving their orientation.
Follow the lesson
Orient the top layer
Complete OLL first. PLL recognition assumes all the top-color stickers are facing up.
Inspect the side stickers
Look for matching bars, headlight pairs and solved side strips. They help identify a permutation case.
Start with two-look PLL
First place the corners correctly and then cycle the remaining edges; this reduces the number of cases to learn initially.
Build recognition before speed
Full PLL has 21 cases. Learn each with a stable grip, correct starting orientation and accurate finger tricks.
A yellow top face does not mean the puzzle is solved. The side colors must also match their centers after the final U alignment.
Practise it on a real cube
Keep your physical cube in the same orientation as the instructions. Perform each face turn slowly, stop and check the stickers, then compare with the 3D trainer. Voice lessons can guide screen-based practice; physical cube moves are confirmed by the learner rather than checked by a camera.
How to know you are ready to move on
Repeat the exercise from a fresh starting position and explain what each turn is meant to accomplish. If the result differs from the target, go back to the earliest step you can verify instead of immediately starting over. Use cube notation whenever a move symbol feels unclear.
